FedEx Donates New Disaster Services Vehicle to The Salvation Army in Kansas City

Mobile Kitchen unit will see daily use serving people in Kansas City and region

WHO: The Salvation Army of Kansas and Western Missouri and FedEx 

WHAT: The Salvation Army and FedEx will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome the newest canteen (aka mobile kitchen) to the Kansas and Western Missouri Division’s Emergency Disaster Services fleet. The brand-new, van-like vehicle will provide more flexibility when it comes to delivering food and water to victims of natural disasters across the entire Kansa and Western Missouri division.  

The canteen will also deliver services on a weekly basis to residents of Kansas City struggling with homelessness as part of the Honk and Holler program. Three nights a week, volunteers and staff visit various stops in and around downtown Kansas City to provide a hot meal, water, snacks, and, during the winter, warm clothing and blankets.
