The Salvation Army Continues to Respond to Flooding in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties
Urgent Need for Flood Kits to Support Families in Recovery

Milwaukee, WI - After the recent severe storms and flooding, The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team continues to be on the ground in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties, standing alongside local emergency officials, first responders, and community partners. Together, they’re making sure neighbors have what they need - whether it’s a snack, clean water, or simply a listening ear and spiritual care.

EDS team members are also working inside State and County Emergency Operations Centers to keep relief efforts coordinated with Wisconsin Emergency Management, and other partners.

Right now, the need is urgent. The Salvation Army’s stock of flood kits - buckets filled with cleaning supplies to help families start the long road to recovery - is running low. At least 500-1,000 more kits are needed immediately.

“Our neighbors are hurting, and every flood kit represents relief, dignity, and hope for a family beginning the recovery process,” said Benny Benedict, The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services Director.

Each kit costs just $30 to put together and includes essentials like cleaner, scrub brushes, mops, brooms, trash bags, squeegee, gloves, and masks.

How the public can help:
Donate: Every $30 provides a flood kit for a family in need. Give online at https://salarmy.us/WUMEDS
Volunteer: Sign up to help distribute flood kits. Please contact carol.lemirand@usc.salvationarmy.org to get started.
