With a presence in almost every ZIP code in America, The Salvation Army is one of the largest disaster-relief organizations in the country.
The Salvation Army currently is responding simultaneously to three major disasters on top of a global COVID pandemic:
Hurricane Laura in Texas and Louisiana;
Wildfires in California;
and the lingering effects of the rare derecho wind storm in Iowa earlier in August.
Because The Salvation Army is already embedded in the communities in which we serve, we are uniquely positioned to serve before, during, and after a disaster strikes:
Response and deployment – food, water, clean-up kits, and hygiene supplies
Spiritual and emotional care – prayer, support, and pastoral care
Long-term recovery – restore social-service programs, implement long-term recovery
Commitment to Diversity
Life Skills to Escape Poverty
Solutions to Human Trafficking
Services for the Aging
Help for Domestic Abuse
