The greatest risk is catastrophic flooding though, as the storm is forecast to hover over Jamaica and deposit an estimated 40 inches of rain (100cm) to parts of Jamaica over the next four days.

Long-term recovery efforts are underway, focusing on restoring housing, rebuilding critical infrastructure, supporting families with financial and emotional recovery needs, and helping communities regain stability after the initial emergency response has ended. These long-term efforts continue even as most outside agencies and short-term support leave the affected areas, requiring coordinated work from state partners, nonprofits, and local leaders to help communities become whole again.
