Job opportunities

We are expanding our team to meet the needs of the community through disaster recovery. See our Job Opportunities page for positions available.

Financial Assistance

Our financial assistance program is currently at capacity. We are grateful for the trust so many families have placed in us, and we want to be transparent that we are unable to take new applications at this time.

If you contacted us before April 7 by phone, email, or in-person at the Waialua community assistance center, a member of our team will be reaching out to you to schedule an appointment. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

We are here for our community.

Kona Low Storms 1 and 2 in March followed by a series of low-pressure storm systems in April brought record-breaking flash flooding and landslides across O‘ahu, Kaua‘i, Maui, and Hawai‘i Island — the worst storm systems in 20 years. More than 10,000 residents were evacuated, over 774 homes have been confirmed destroyed, damaged, or affected, and the combined storms caused an estimated $1 billion or more in property damage and nearly $9.4 billion in projected agricultural losses.

During the storms, The Salvation Army mobilized immediately, providing hot meals for sheltering residents and emergency responders. As recovery efforts began, we expanded to provide direct financial assistance, clean-up supplies, laundry and car washing support, and emotional and spiritual care — and we will stay for as long as our neighbors need us.
