Seven Pillars of Service

Seven Pillars of Service
The mission of The Salvation Army is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name, without discrimination. In the Greater St. Louis area, our seven core program and service initiatives reflect hope in action.
You see, behind the red kettles and the joy of the Christmas season, we're serving the community 24/7/365 through various programs and social services that provide care and dignity to our most marginalized neighbors. And, we can only deliver on our mission with the help and support of the community.
What pillar resonates most with you?
FOOD | Relieving food insecurity for our most marginalized neighbors via food pantries and community meal programs
HOUSING | Helping families, veterans and individuals who are unhoused secure transitional and permanent housing
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT | Providing character-building opportunities to at-risk youth through after-school programs and summer camps
MATERIAL AND DISASTER ASSISTANCE | Offering basic necessities such as food, clothing, household items, and rent, utility and prescription assistance in times of need and following emergencies or disasters
SENIOR SERVICES | Helping meet the spiritual and emotional needs of seniors to prevent isolation through activities, events and fellowship
ADDICTION AND MENTAL HEALTH | Supporting those experiencing mental health challenges or substance abuse recovery, and assisting veterans in readjusting to civilian life
ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING | Partnering with local organizations and directly providing survivors with safety, stability and self-empowerment
