The Salvation Army began serving the Wausau community in 1912.

During World War II, The Salvation Army operated 3,000 service units for the armed forces and played a key role in the creation of the USO. Since then, the organization has continued its global mission of service.

Today, The Salvation Army works wherever the need is greatest, guided by its faith in God and its commitment to love and serve all people. It now reaches those in need in over 125 countries.

The Salvation Army of Marathon County offers programs and services that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the community from its church and family service office in Wausau, Wisconsin. Known as a reliable and respected partner, The Salvation Army remains dedicated to serving residents across the entire community.
