The Salvation Army Transitional Living Center provides meals, shelter, and other services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Transitional Living Center

We work with homeless families and individuals in Wausau and Marathon County to develop plans that enable them to achieve increased self-sufficiency, reduced dependence on public assistance, improve independent living skills, develop greater self-determination, and secure and maintain permanent housing.

The shelter is staffed 7 days a week.

What services are provided?

  • 30 - 90 days of Emergency shelter
  • Three meals per day.
  • Basic living skills and barriers to change training to help them succeed outside of the shelter. 
  • Access to a case manager to support their efforts searching for housing, applying for assistance if need be, and much more.

Homeless Outreach Program

The Salvation Army Transitional Living Center is now providing homeless outreach programs that help people who are living on the streets.

This program provides the following assistance:

  • Showers
  • Laundry facility
  • Self-heating meals
  • Referrals to other programs to help meet some of the needs.

To be qualified for this program, the individual must be classified as living on the streets. The program is open Monday and Thursday, 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
