Emergency Disaster Services
When disaster strikes, The Salvation Army is there to help. Our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) Team responds alongside local fire, police, and rescue personnel to provide relief, comfort, and hope to those impacted.
A Legacy of Disaster Response
Since 1900, when The Salvation Army first provided aid after a devastating hurricane in Galveston, Texas, our teams have been on the front lines of:
- Natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, wildfires)
- Transportation accidents
- Civil unrest and community crises
- Terrorist attacks
We support first responders and survivors with meals, hydration, emotional and spiritual care, and other critical resources - helping communities rebuild when they need it most.
