Shop with a Cop 2026
About the event
St. Croix County Sheriff's Office Child
Benevolent Fund
Again, this year St. Croix County is teaming up with Grace Place to ensure that
children who are in need receive a positive start to the new school year. This years
event will take place on August 12th at the St. Croix Services Center. Local
law enforcement volunteers will volunteer their time to shop with a child who is in
need of a new outfit, a new pair of shoes, and other basic items like socks and
underwear to get their school year off to a great start.
Children are paired with an officer, and they will join others at Wal-Mart in New Richmond to do some shopping. e day,
we hope, will not only meet the physical needs of the child but also forge healthy relationships with local law enforcement.
Many of these children have only had negative experiences with law enforcement and our hope is to change this narrative.
Our goal is to encourage a positive relationship while meeting the needs of the child.
Many of the children who participate come from families where a new outfit or new pair of shoes is a financial burden. We
want to help them by providing a fun experience that installs confidence in the child for the first day of school when they
put on their new outfit and lace up their new shoes with a BIG smile!
Law enforcement officers have been asked to nominate children they know who are in need. Local school districts will also
be nominating children along with children who are known through Grace Place programs. We hope to provide a fun back
to school shopping experience for the kids while fostering positive relationships with law enforcement.
