Our Local Leadership
Corps Administrators Martin and Shannon Thies
Martin & Shannon Thies were both born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where their shared love of music first brought them together. They met while studying Vocal Music Education at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and were married in 1998. In 2003, they responded to God’s call to full-time ministry and entered The Salvation Army’s College for Officer Training in Chicago, Illinois. They were Commissioned and Ordained as Salvation Army Officers in 2005.
Throughout their ministry, Martin and Shannon have served in a variety of appointments across Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. After a one-year break from Officership, they joyfully returned to ministry and currently serve in the Fox Cities, WI.
They are proud parents to two adult sons, Jacob (married to Alisha, with their first child expected in October 2025) and Andrew, both of whom live in Wisconsin. They also have a beloved “chosen daughter” (Marla) who resides in Iowa.
Martin and Shannon are passionate about music, love serving others, and are deeply committed to their faith and calling. Their lives are grounded in love for God, for people, and for the mission they share together.
