Beyond Crafting
Coffee Club came about after the Housing Services team felt many of our housing clients, particularly onsite, would develop stronger coping skills and build healthy relationships by participating in a pro-social event dubbed, “Coffee Club.” And that is what is happening!
Coffee Club is set in a relaxed environment offering a variety of activities where participants (clients) are learning new hobbies and building pro-social relationships with their neighbors as well as rapport with staff! Participants are learning new art skills, gardening from raised beds, playing games with their neighbors and developing positive coping skills and physical activities. Coffee Club fosters Coping Skills, Rapport and Community!
Coping Skills: Clients not only learn new hobbies and coping skills they can use to combat mental health and addiction struggles, but also have a safe place to practice them. Coffee Club gives our clients access to the materials and encouragement they need to sustain their progress.
Rapport: Staff interacts with clients in a more casual and relaxed environment, fostering stronger, more trusting relationships. This, in turn, enhances outcomes in our housing programming.
Community: Clients engage with staff and neighbors in a pro-social manner within a safe environment free of active drug and alcohol use. This creates an additional layer of accountability when clients openly share their goals with others in their community.
Coffee Club depends completely on donations to operate. We are in need of art supplies, gardening supplies, gift cards for food, and other items. For more information about how you can sponsor a specific activity or donate supplies you can send us a message here or please check out of wish list below. Any and all donations are very much appreciated!

"It's a lot more than doing crafts. It gives us a chance to come slowly out of our apartments, anxiety can make it difficult for socializing. Creating something meaningful myself may seem a small accomplishment, but it's a big step toward accomplishing something much bigger. This helps during the times where you feel like you can't do anything at all." -Ben
"I look forward to Coffee Club bi-weekly. It gives me a reason to get out of bed sometimes and the comradery and support is a blessing." -Margie
"We are welcome here, Coffee Club makes me feel like I belong!" -Mary
