
Volunteer
Volunteering with The Salvation Army is a meaningful way to give back and make a real difference in your community. From the start, we’ve relied on dedicated volunteers - often called “the army behind The Army” - to help us provide essential services and support to those in need.
Getting started is simple: just fill out the registration form below, and we will be in touch. With a wide range of opportunities, there’s a place for everyone to serve, grow, and be part of a tradition of compassion that changes lives.
February/March
Help for the Homeless Drive: Help with the collection of items by dropping off & picking up of boxes & sorting of items.
May-September
Summer Camp Driver: Driver drops children & adults off at Salvation Army Camp in East Troy.
July
Kettle Bell Ringing: Ring bells at locations throughout Manitowoc & Two Rivers. Shifts are 2 hours long. Shifts are open to individuals, groups or families.
September/October
Coats for Kids: Help set up racks of coats & items for the distribution day. On distribution day, assist clients as they pick out coats & items for their children.
November/December
Kettle Bell Ringing: Ring bells at locations throughout Manitowoc & Two Rivers. Shifts are 2 hours long. Shifts are open to individuals, groups or families.
December
Toys for Tots: Help set up the Toy Shop for distribution day. On distribution day, assist the Adopt a Families as they take their gifts to their vehicles & help the other clients shop for their children in our Toy Shop. After Toy Shop, help Staff clean up tables & put away extra items.
Year-Round
Advisory Board Members: The Board meets once a month. The Board is an advocate for the Manitowoc Corp making sure decisions that are made are in the best interest of our County, Corp and our clients that we assist.
Celebrate Freedom/Prison After Care Mentors: Mentors offer support & help individuals as they work to reclaim their life after incarceration.
Cleaners/Maintenance: Cleaning & Maintenance of 2 buildings including exterior & interior.
Emergency Response Team Members: Support local police & fire departments when called on locally & around the world.
Kitchen Help: Assist in kitchen to serve light lunch & clean up. Assist in monitoring guests to keep them in designated areas of building. Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:45am – 2:00pmPantry
Pick up Drivers: Drivers pick up food from area convenience stores & grocery stores. Once back at the Pantry, items are counted, weighed & logged.
Pantry Workers: Assist clients as they shop our Pantry for groceries. Stock & clean as needed.
Pantry Stockers: Stock & clean Pantry as needed. Some stocking is heavy lifting. Some stocking is light work. Big deliveries come in a few times a month.
Businesses and Schools
Businesses can host food drives, hygiene drives, Adopt a Family at Christmas, Ring Bells, volunteer time individually or as a group or help with other large projects.
