Coats For Kids
Each winter, The Salvation Army of Manitowoc County’s Coats for Kids program distributes more than 2,000 warm coats to local children in need. What started as a simple act of caring has grown into a vital part of our Seasonal Assistance efforts - made possible entirely through the generosity of this community.
From individuals and families to churches, businesses, and civic groups, so many come together to ensure children are protected from Wisconsin’s harsh winters. We are deeply thankful for every partner, and for the dedicated volunteers who faithfully assist with registration and distribution each year.
Together, we’re keeping Manitowoc’s kids warm - and showing them they are cared for.
Registration
This year, The Salvation Army is migrating from in-person registration to an online registration for both our Coats for Kids and Toys for Tots programs. If you do not have access to sign up online, please call 920-684-7117 or stop in the office (415 N. 6th St) to register.
The Deadline for signing up for Coats for Kids is Friday, October 24.
For online registration, please complete all of the required information to the best of your ability. Please consider the following:
- Participants must live in Manitowoc County
- Only register children who live in your household
- Only register children who are 18 years old or younger
You will need the following documents:
- Identification for the applicant and any other adults in the household
- Proof of residency for every child (ex, BadgerCare or FoodShare Statement, School Records, etc.)
Distribution
Coats for Kids distribution will take place at The Salvation Army Pantry (402 N. 9th St) on Saturday, November 1st, from 9 am - 5 pm. Clients will sign up for a time to come pick up their coats. More details to come soon!

Donations
For those looking to donate this year - our donation boxes will be out at local businesses: September 22 - October 23.
Do you prefer to shop online? Purchase coats from our Amazon or Walmart Registry, and they'll ship directly to us!
