Beloit Programs and Services

The Salvation Army of Rock County is committed to offering hope and support to families and individuals during the holiday season and throughout the year. Together with our community partners, donors, and volunteers, we strive to meet immediate needs while empowering families to build brighter futures.

Christmas Assistance Program

This program provides gifts for children and Christmas food baskets for individuals and families with or without children. Applications for Christmas assistance begin in October. We collect toys at local businesses around Rock County through the Angel Tree Program.  Toys are then distributed to low-income families in need of help with providing Christmas gifts for their children.

If you are a business and are interested in hosting a toy drive or Angel Tree collection, please reach out at 608-757-8300 ext 216.

Community Meal

A free meal is provided every Tuesday & Thursday from 12 - 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome; no eligibility documentation is required.

Emergency Assistance

Many families find themselves in situations where they need a little support, which is why The Salvation Army Emergency Assistance Program was developed. Assistance that individuals and families may qualify for may consist of, but is not limited to, transportation, emergency lodging, rent, utility assistance, and clothing etc., for residents in the Beloit area.

Food Pantry

A food pantry is available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Families are eligible for grocery orders every 30 days. For the initial visit, the family must bring ID and address verification for every member of the household. Each subsequent visit requires a photo ID for the person picking up the food. All low-income Beloit and South Beloit families are eligible.

What to expect:

  • The food is given on the day it is requested
  • The food will represent breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all members of the household
  • Those receiving food are also informed about how they can participate in supplemental food programs so they can move beyond visiting charity food pantries

Pathway of Hope

The Salvation Army offers holistic and strengths-based case management services to families with children who have a desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and attain a level of increased stability. Families will work in partnership with their case manager and ministry staff to develop an action plan as well as assess their strengths and progress while receiving support and encouragement to reach their goals.
