Backpack Program

The Salvation Army Barron County Backpack Program Information

The Polk County Salvation Army's Backpack Program supports local families by providing food to children over the weekend - a time when they don’t have access to the free or reduced-price meals they receive at school during the week.

Each backpack is filled with essential items to help reduce hunger for a child and their family, including:

  • Dinner
  • Breakfast
  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Snack
  • Milk coupon (provided once per month)

This program is a vital resource for many families in our community. However, the cost to run it is significant, and without community support, the program is at risk.
