Tacoma Volunteers
WELCOME TO THE SALVATION ARMY OF TACOMA VOLUNTEER PAGE
Why Volunteer?
There are several good reasons to volunteer your time. You may relate to all of them, or perhaps only a few truly resonate with you. Not everyone has a passion for everything, but that just means the work can be spread across many hands to accomplish much more!
Consider the following as you decide how to share your time and talents with the world around you:
Learn a new skill. Volunteerism is a great way to learn new skills in real situations.
Improve mental health: helping others can reduce your own stress.
Building self-confidence: Volunteering your time can improve self-esteem and self-worth.
Make new friends: reduce loneliness and connect with people who share your interests and passions.
Bring people together from different backgrounds and build a more diverse community around you.
Encourage social and civic responsibility by being an active helper in your community.
Give back: perhaps you were the beneficiary of volunteerism and you want to be part of that circle of giving back.
Increase your support base: Increase friendships and broaden your exposure to community resources.
The Salvation Army of Tacoma is a great place to start giving back, making friends, and using your time and talents to make an impact on your neighbors!

Volunteer Committee Members

Kimber Lawrence
"My name is Kimber, and I am a red kettle volunteer as well as a member of the Fundraising and Events Committee. This may sound silly, but I have always wanted to be a bell ringer. When the opportunity came up a few years ago I jumped on it and now I am fully immersed in giving my time and helping the Salvation Army."
Dabbe Saeteurn
"I volunteer for the Salvation Army because I love serving others! Being part of the Fundraising and Events Committee allows me to have fun and connect with members of our community while making a meaningful impact. Doing the ‘most good’ allows me to steward God’s beautiful creation and reflect His love onto my neighbors."
Carrington Branch
"I’m honored and excited to be a part of the Events & Fundraising Committee because I enjoy serving others and building relationships, all while being around like-minded, faith-filled people. (I also get to throw parties in the name of God) Additionally, I admire all that the Salvation Army does to support and impact the community, including being a place to learn and grow. They're truly doing the most good."
