Angel and Giving Tree Information
A giving program helping to make sure every young person (0 - 17 y.o) in need receives a Christmas gift.

You (the applicant) will need:
- a form of personal identification e.g drivers license, a passport, or a state-issued ID card
- a proof of home address e.g utility bill, official letter (e.g DSHS mail)
- proof of each child's date of birth e.,g birth certificate, passport or medical records
For people wanting to give:
- Individual gifts.
If you would like to make a physical donation of any new toy, please visit our Giving Tree at the Tacoma Mall (near Macy's) from Nov. 14th onwards. You will also find donation bins at the Lakewood and Tacoma Walmarts, as well as the Tacoma Stevens and University Place Fred Meyer's. Please make sure you place the item in a Salvation Army marked collection bin.
Alternatively, you can visit our very own Walmart Registry (Nov 15th-Dec 10th) and ship the items directly to us.
- Adopt a complete family.
Some companies, families and even individuals, generously 'Adopt-a-Family', taking on all the children in one household and the adults too.

Red Kettle Bell Ringing
In 1891, Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee set out to serve a Christmas dinner to San Francisco’s hungry.
Inspired by a "charity pot" he'd seen in England, he placed a kettle at the Oakland Ferry Landing with a sign that read,
"Keep the Pot Boiling."
Passersby dropped in coins — enough to feed over 1,000 people that Christmas. That simple kettle sparked a tradition.
Today, the iconic Red Kettle and its bell symbolize hope, ringing out across the world to support those in need —
not just at Christmas, but all year through food pantries, shelters, and meal programs.
Now, right here in Tacoma, we carry on that mission. With your help, we can continue to provide food, shelter, and hope to our neighbors in need.
