Hunger Services at Centralia Corps Community Center

The Salvation Army is dedicated to alleviating hunger in our community. Our local office operates community food pantries to provide nutritious food to individuals and families in need. We understand the challenges that food insecurity can pose in this area, and we're committed to providing a helping hand.

Our food pantries offer a variety of food items, including canned goods and nonperishable staples. Some even offer fresh produce. We work closely with local partners to ensure that we can provide a diverse selection of food to meet the unique needs of our community.

By providing access to nutritious food, we aim to improve the health and well-being of the neighbors we serve. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to the nourishment they need to thrive.

If you or someone you know is struggling with food insecurity, please visit our local office to learn more about our food pantry services.

The Centralia Corps has a community lunch program that offers individuals experiencing homelessness or food insecurity an opportunity to sit down together, enjoy a warm meal, charge their phones, and more.

The Salvation Army in Centralia is Harvesting Hope

By the end of 4th grade, low-income students are already two years behind grade level.  By the time they reach the 12th grade, the same kids are four years behind. Through the Harvesting Hope Farm Program, we are investing Hope into others to end the generational cycle of poverty. The Harvesting Hope Farm is located at the Centralia Corps and gives volunteers and employees a chance to work with their hands, grow fresh food, and learn new skills.

The top priority of The Salvation Army is to meet basic human needs, but we recognize the importance of programs that go beyond food, shelter, clothing, and safety. In addition to meeting basic needs, The Salvation Army-Centralia strives to provide programs that invest in others, equipping them with the skills and goals to succeed and end the generational cycle of poverty.

Through the Harvesting Hope Farm Program, partnering agencies and individuals are invited to invest in their community.  Our goals are simple: to provide a work experience that helps individuals grow into exceptional employees and meet the needs of the community.

We provide job training through structured time management, goal setting, and a forklift certification program.

We serve the needs of the community by providing high-quality, fresh ingredients at no cost to those in greatest need.

"There's hope that you can change, there's hope that things will get better.  There's room for everyone at God's table, and we want you to be part of that." - Former Captain Gin Pack
