Salt Lake City Corps Community Center Utility Assistance Information
The Salvation Army assists with gas and electricity for qualifying households in Salt Lake City.
These programs support seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and low-income families who need help catching up on past due bills or avoiding disconnection.
Household income must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for the 48 contiguous states (including Utah).
Example: A household of 4 must earn $49,500/year (~$4,125/month) or less.

Enbridge Gas
To qualify for Enbridge Gas assistance, applicants must:
- Have received HEAT assistance for the current cycle (Nov. 2025 – Sept. 2026).
- Have household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
- Have a past-due balance on their gas bill.
- Have at least one of the following living in the household:
- Senior (60+)
- Child under age 5
- Person with a disability
Rocky Mountain Power
To qualify for Rocky Mountain Power assistance, applicants must:
- Have received a HEAT Notice of Decision for the current cycle (Nov. 2025 – Sept. 2026).
- Have household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
- Have a past-due balance and be at risk of disconnection.
- Have at least one of the following living in the household:
- Child under age 17
- Senior (60+)
- Person with a disability
- Veteran
Necessary Documents:
- Valid photo IDs for all household members over the age of 18
- Birth certificates or Medicaid cards for all children under the age of 18 (We do not accept Social Security cards)
- Proof of income: Current year Social Security Award Letter, bank statements showing the most recent deposits, or paycheck stubs from the last 30 days
- Utility bill with the full account number
- HEAT Notice of Decision

Our utility assistance programs help cover part of, or all, a utility bill for qualifying low-income households. We work directly with utility provides to help apply direct funds. These are secondary programs to the government-funded HEAT program.
Please contact the Corps office as each utility program (gas, electricity) has different program requirements. Each assistance is available only once per year, per household.
