“WA Spring Luncheon 2025”

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Women’s Auxiliary is to support the services and programs of The Salvation Army’s Northeast Florida Area Command. As members of The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, we raise community awareness of The Salvation Army by giving our time and talents with compassion, kindness, gentleness, and humility, letting God’s love show through us in all that we may be asked to do. As we help others, with loving hearts, we are blessed with new friendships and the joy that comes from serving others. The Auxiliary’s primary fundraising event is the Annual Celebrity Chefs Tasting Luncheon and Silent Auction. Funds raised from this event support major services and projects of The Salvation Army. For almost four decades, through the dedicated work, service, and love of The Salvation Army the Women’s Auxiliary has touched hundreds of lives. Together we meet human needs in God’s name.

A LETTER FROM OUR WOMEN'S AUXILIARY PRESIDENT

placeholder

Dear Friends:

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Jacksonville, Florida, is a passionate group of dedicated ladies united in our love for Christ and our shared mission to support the life-changing ministries of The Salvation Army.

The Women’s Auxiliary is often called “the army behind The Army,” and it’s a title we carry with great purpose and humility. Each of our members brings to the Auxiliary their compassion, unique gifts, experiences, and a spirit of service that reflects God’s goodness as we help those in need.

We have many opportunities throughout the year to volunteer and give back to our community. During the spring and summer months, we provide Easter baskets, school supplies, and clothing to the children who reside at the Towers Center of Hope. We fill “camp bags” for campers attending The Army’s Camp Keystone.

In the spring, the Auxiliary hosts our primary fundraiser, Celebrity Chefs Tasting Luncheon and Silent Auction. This fundraiser provides us with the funds to fill various Army departments’ “wish lists.” A few of those wishes filled include: ovens, walk-in freezers, vehicles, furniture, washers and dryers, computers, printers, defibrillators, Angel Tree bags, and the list goes on.

In the fall and winter months, we collect and sort food for Thanksgiving and Christmas distribution. We help make Christmas wishes come true for thousands of children by working at the Toy Shop and through the Angel Tree program. During the Christmas season, the Auxiliary is an avid supporter and participant in the iconic Red Kettle program by “ringing the bells.”

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary extends a heartfelt invitation to join us in Christian fellowship and service. Auxiliary members meet monthly to enjoy time together, hear from a guest speaker, share refreshments, and report on projects. As we strive to be women of faith and service, together we will continue to support The Salvation Army’s mission: “To preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”

Hebrews 13:16 tells us:

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Blessings,

Debbie Veale
