Seeks 30 New Monthly Donors 

Mississippi Gulf Coast (September 16, 2026) – With only 100 days until Christmas, The Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast is preparing for its most critical fundraising season of the year. But families facing a crisis today cannot wait for the red kettles to appear. The Salvation Army is seeking 30 new monthly donors through Army of Hope in the next 30 days to help ensure practical assistance and hope are available every month all year long. 

Monthly gifts made through the local Army of Hope program stay on the coast to support local programs and services. All year long, individuals and families turn to The Salvation Army when they face a crisis they could not predict or prepare for. That dependable monthly support helps ensure services such as the Clean and Fresh (shower and laundry program), food insecurity, youth programs, first steps transitional housing, workforce development, and more are available throughout the year.

But a family facing an unexpected crisis in September cannot wait until the red kettles appear," said Major Paul Egan, Area Commander. Monthly giving offers people an easy way to give practical help and hope to a neighbor in need every month. That dependable support is essential to our ability to respond quickly.” 

Reaching 30 monthly donors means just one person a day choosing to give for the next 30 days. Army of Hope members make a recurring monthly gift in an amount that is meaningful to them.  Suggested gifts of $19, $30, or $53 per month can help The Salvation Army meet immediate needs while also strengthening the programs local families rely on throughout the year. When many people give a manageable amount each month, those gifts add up to dependable help close to home. 

Approximately 82 cents of every dollar donated to The Salvation Army supports local programs and services.  All Army of Hope donations made through the local campaign stay on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
