How we help Equip Families

The Salvation Army in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky offers a helping hand for those who need a little nudge.  Helping in a practical way is how we believe we do the most good.  The following programs are available to residents who are in need of emergency assistance:

Rent Assistance

When you don’t know where the money for your next rent payment is coming from, check with your local Salvation Army to see if funding is available for rent assistance. This type of funding ebb and flows, but if we can help, we will.

Those seeking assistance should call 513-762-5660, to schedule an in-person visit with a trained staff member.

Utility Assistance

During a long, cold winter, your heat bill swells and you receive a notice from your energy provider that all utilities will be disconnected unless you can pay the overdue balance. Or, maybe a job loss forced you to choose between paying rent or paying your electric bill. We can help.

Those seeking assistance should call 513-762-5660, to schedule an in-person visit with a trained staff member.

Rapid Re-Housing

Rapid re-housing provides short-term rental assistance and services. The goals are to help people obtain housing quickly, increase self- sufficiency, and stay housed.

With long term care management designed to transition clients from emergency shelter to permanent housing.

Those seeking housing assistance should call 513-762-5660, to schedule an in-person visit with a trained staff member.

Alleviate Hunger

We feed people daily, including the most vulnerable of our communities — underserved children in our after-school programs, the elderly at our Senior Center, women and children at our homeless shelters, people looking to better their lives at our addiction recovery facilities, survivors rebuilding their lives after a disaster, and victims of human trafficking.

Salvation Army food pantries provide groceries for families and individuals in need. Food offered at no-charge to the clients.

Those seeking assistance should call 513-762-5660.

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope initiative marks a pivotal shift to focusing on the core causes of poverty rather than treating the symptoms. Lack of job opportunities, unstable housing, and an underserved educational environment can all be major challenges for someone looking to lead a self-sustainable life. With our help, people living in poverty can break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability and lead families down a path toward increased stability for years to come. It’s a pathway of hope for current and future generations.
