We at The Salvation Army are dedicated to helping individuals and families in our area overcome poverty and achieve housing and food security. Our local office provides a range of programs and services designed to address the root causes of poverty and help people build better futures.
We understand that poverty can be a complex issue with far-reaching consequences. Our dedicated local team works closely with individuals and families in the community to assess their needs and connect them with appropriate resources.
By providing comprehensive support, we aim to equip individuals and families with the tools they need to improve their lives. We offer a variety of services to help people overcome financial challenges, find employment, and build stronger communities.

Location: Akron & Barberton Salvation Army
The Hot Shower Program is available to individuals in need at both our Akron and Barberton locations. All showers include soap, shampoo, razor, and a clean fresh towel. Individuals must provide a valid picture ID.
Akron Location
Hot showers are available to individuals in need Monday through Friday, between 9 am – 10:15 am, and 12 pm - 2:15 pm, at 190 S. Maple Street, Akron, OH, 44302.
Barberton Location
Hot showers are available to individuals in need Monday through Friday, between 10 am - 11:15 am, and 12:45 pm - 2 pm, at 560 W. Wooster Rd., Barberton, OH, 44203.

Location: Akron and Barberton Salvation Army
H.U.G.S. (Hats, Underwear, Gloves and Socks) for the Homeless provides a variety of new, clean undergarments, socks, hats, and gloves for those we serve. This program is available at both Akron and Barberton locations. We need donations to provide new, packaged men’s, women's, boys and girls undershirts, underpants, and white athletic socks in all sizes to our clients and neighbors in need.

Akron Location: Diaper assistance is available to individuals and families in need Monday through Friday, between 9 am – 3 pm, at 190 S. Maple Street, Akron, OH, 44302.
Barberton Location: Diaper assistance is available to individuals and families in need on Tuesdays and Fridays, between 11 am – 1 pm, at 560 W. Wooster Rd., Barberton, OH, 44203.
