Senior Enrichment Programs
Many Salvation Army community centers have a dedicated program for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, seniors. Our programs offer a sense of community and belonging for seniors by providing regularly scheduled activities including arts and crafts, special events, time for socializing with other seniors, and games.
camping
Senior Camp
Many of our local community centers we provide seniors with partial camp scholarships to attend The Salvation Army’s Star Lake Camp for a stay of five days and four nights where they are able to experience the beautiful outdoors, relax, socialize with peers, and enjoy camping activities (arts and crafts, fishing, swimming, paddle boating, nature walks, shuffleboard, karaoke, etc.).

The Salvation Army is dedicated to meeting the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors, including older New Yorkers who might typically spend their days alone at home.
Many of our centers provide regularly scheduled activities for seniors, including arts and crafts, special events, socialization, and games. Other opportunities through which we support our senior population include camp retreats and regular visits to extend care facilities. The Salvation Army is a safe haven for our senior populations, just as it is for people of all ages who are in need.

Your donations will directly support programs for the elderly. This can include:
- Purchasing the tools and material necessary for arts and crafts
- More events and places where seniors can socialize with others
- Trips outside of the city like senior camp in Star Lake
