Purposed. Empowered. Appreciated. Respected. Loved.

For more than 150 years, The Salvation Army has stood firmly behind individuals impacted by trafficking and exploitation. Today, we remain fully committed to eradicating forced labor and sexual exploitation and ending sexual and gender-based violence. In Greater New York, we created PEARL Essence (Purposed, Empowered, Appreciated, Respected, Loved) to offer first-step services to empower women who are highly vulnerable to trafficking due to their immigration status, extreme poverty, and lifelong trauma.
