Angel Tags & Trees

Angel Tree is meant to provide toys to kids who otherwise might not find anything under the tree on Christmas morning. Toys, winter hats, gloves, scarves or clothing for local children in need. We provide businesses, community groups and individual families with "Angel Tree Tags" that list specific items/sizes.  Email ras.volunteer@use.salvationarmy.org to request angels for your location.

Adopt A Kettle for a Day

During this giving season, you and a small group of friends, family, or co-workers can Adopt-a-Kettle for a day! It only takes 8 ringers to keep one kettle standing for a full day, which helps dozens of people in the coming year.

2 people ringing, just 2 hours at a time...4 shifts a day is all it takes to make a huge difference!

 Gift bags for The Homeless

Being in a shelter at any time of the year isn't easy. Knowing that someone is thinking of you and wants to make it easier can help relieve stress and sorrow. Gift bags with new socks, chap sticks, hard candy and emery boards in them are a great way to say "we care." Email ras.volunteer@use.salvationarmy.org for more details!

 Holiday Meals & Food Baskets

The Salvation Army helps bring people together by providing everything needed for a traditional dinner or a holiday celebration at home. Want to volunteer by collecting, sorting or packing family meals? Email ras.volunteer@use.salvationarmy.org to let us know.

 Adopt-a-Family

Families, businesses and other groups often adopt a family and work together to provide for their needs. This involves providing Christmas gifts and food for a family that has suffered severe hardship or tragedy within the past year. Their needs are more than what our normal Christmas Assistance can provide.   Email janet.menendez@use.salvationarmy.org to adopt a Rochester family in need and help them have a better Christmas celebration.

"Battle of the Bells"

Who doesn't want to ring outside their favorite store at Christmas time?!? Organize a group to ring at a local Red Kettle location, or let us know if you'd like to ring at your own location. We've made a contest out of this holiday tradition called “Battle of the Bells”. All you need to do is ring at a kettle for at least 4 hours before December 24th. Multiple shifts under your group's name are encouraged!

 Kettle Sponsorships

Sponsoring a Salvation Army kettle is a great way to gain exposure while giving back at the same time. You chose the red kettle stand location, and we'll put your "Sponsored By" sign at the top for all to see!

For $500 your organization logo or family name will be proudly displayed at one of our high-traffic kettles throughout this year's Red Kettle Campaign (Thanksgiving-Christmas Eve). 100% of your tax-deductible sponsorship supports our Rochester-based programs and services.

Your money goes directly to helping our Monroe County neighbors in need.

Counter-Top Kettles

Place one of our small kettles at your location’s front desk, near a register, or on your family dinner table! We encourage you to select a “kettle ambassador” at your site who will remind others about the collection and monitor donations.  All monies raised through these mini-kettles around Rochester will go directly to our Red Kettle Campaign, which helps fund our local services & programs. BONUS: Counter-Top Kettles can be counted towards your "Battle of the Bells" final contribution.

Make A Donation

If you don’t have time to commit, you can simply write a check with “Hope Marches On" in the memo or visit here for our secure online donation form. You will receive a letter of thanks with our 4013b information on it for tax deduction purposes.
