Housing Services in the Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Division

Housing crises can happen to anyone, which is why we provide assistance programs to keep our neighbors safe and sheltered. No matter your circumstances, The Salvation Army welcomes anyone who walks through our doors. If you or someone you know is in need of emergency shelter, contact your nearest Salvation Army location.

How You Can Help

There are many ways to support The Salvation Army's local housing services:

  • Volunteer: Share your time and skills to help with different activities.
  • Donate: Your gift helps us keep our neighbors safe, warm, and housed.

Our housing services:

Shelters and Emergency Housing

Everyone is welcome to come to The Salvation Army to get out of the bitter cold, intense heat, heavy rains, or just to have a safe and quiet place to sleep at night. We operate shelters across Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware for single men and women, with some areas able to accommodate young adults and entire families.

Transitional Housing

When you need a place to stay during the “in-between” phase of securing housing, our transitional housing program offers shelter until you find a permanent place to live. If you’ve been evicted, struggling with addiction, facing domestic violence, or a housing crisis, contact your local Salvation Army to find out what transitional housing options are available in your area.

Permanent Supportive Housing

When you need a more long-term solution, one of our permanent housing facilities may be a better fit. Our housing options range from supportive housing facilities for seniors to apartments for vulnerable young adults learning independence. We also have complexes for homeless adults and families.

Rent and Utility Assistance

When you simply cannot afford your next rent or utility payment, check with your local Corps Community Center to see if funding is available for rent assistance. This type of funding typically ebbs and flows, but if we can help, we will.
