Who We Are
For over 100 years, The Salvation Army has been an active part of the Escanaba community, dedicated to helping neighbors in need. Today, its work continues through food pantries, meal programs, emergency assistance, and seasonal support like holiday meals and toy drives. We also provide opportunities for youth and families through mentorship, after-school activities, and community events. Rooted in a mission of compassion and service, The Salvation Army remains committed to strengthening the Escanaba area by offering hope, stability, and a helping hand to anyone facing difficult times.
Our Local Leadership
Captains Doug and Captain Kim Winters
Doug and Kim Winters came to Escanaba in 2021. Both Doug and Kim are children of Salvation Army officers (pastors) and grew up attending The Salvation Army as their church. They were married in 1985 and have four adult children and two grandchildren. They pursed various careers in business and science, but in 2016 felt God's call to become officers. They were assigned to Marquette County as Auxiliary Captains later that year. In 2021 they moved up to Captains and again God called, but this time to Escanaba.
