THE SALVATION ARMY OF OMAHA ANNOUNCES 2025 TREE OF LIGHTS CAMPAIGN GOAL

OMAHA, Neb. (November 13, 2025)— The Salvation Army of Omaha’s largest fundraising campaign of the year is now officially underway.  Salvation Army leaders set the 2025 Tree of Lights Campaign in motion this evening as they flipped the switch on the 75-foot-tall LED Christmas tree at American National Bank’s 90th and West Dodge Rd. headquarters.

The fundraising goal for this year’s Tree of Lights Campaign is $3.3 million.  This year’s campaign chair is Travis Freeman, owner and president of Brite Ideas Decorating.

Tonight’s tree-lighting event also signaled the deployment of a Tree of Lights Campaign staple:  The Salvation Army’s iconic red kettles.  Starting tomorrow, kettles will be placed at more than 100 locations in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro through Dec. 24.  Kettles will be equipped to take donations via coin/paper money – plus, they’ll be able to take online donations via a QR code on the kettle sign which passersby can scan with their smartphones.  Donations made to metro-area kettles are a substantial component of the overall Tree of Lights Campaign.

Another option for donors to consider is to simply go to omaharedkettle.org to make a fast, easy, secure online donation to the Tree of Lights Campaign.  These donations—as with all Tree of Lights Campaign donations—stay local and help those in need right here in the metro.  What’s more, campaign chair Travis Freeman has generously agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds from the first-ever season of Brite Ideas’ new ChristmasLand holiday lights drive-thru near Valley, Neb., to The Salvation Army of Omaha...as part of the overall campaign effort.

The Salvation Army is also asking for volunteers to ring the bells at local red kettles.  Anyone wishing to volunteer can go to registertoring.com and find a convenient kettle and time at which to ring.

The 2025 Tree of Lights Campaign theme is “Give with Joy.”  As the campaign begins, The Salvation Army of Omaha would like to thank the community for its faithful support.
