Omaha-Metro Backpack Distribution Events set for August 7, 8

The Salvation Army of Omaha has announced that its annual backpack distribution events will take place around town on August 7 and 8, 2026.

Thousands of backpacks stuffed with school supplies will be handed out to families in need at these events — all courtesy of donors to the annual Salvation Army 7 Can Help Back to School Backpack Program.  In-person distribution events will happen at The Salvation Army's North Corps (North Omaha) and Kroc Center (South Omaha) locations — and a third event, a drive-thru distribution, will happen in the north parking lot of Westroads Mall.
