TurkeyFest

Turkey-Fest_2.jpg

TurkeyFest is a city-wide mobile-feeding operation that delivers complimentary Thanksgiving dinners to older adults in need.  The Kroc Center (2825 Y St.) serves as both the kitchen and the distribution hub, as scores of volunteer drivers roll in on Thanksgiving morning, pick up the volunteer-prepared meals, and take them around town for delivery.

TurkeyFest registration is now underway and runs through November 20.  Meal delivery occurs Thanksgiving morning (November 27).  Recipients must be 60 years of age or older and must be home on Thanksgiving morning to receive a meal.

To register, call 402-898-6023; phone lines are open weekdays from 9 a.m. - noon and again from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.  (Please note that you must speak to one of our representatives on the phone to register; no voice mails will be accepted.)

TurkeyFest recipients will enjoy a hot Thanksgiving meal featuring turkey and all the trimmings—delivered to their door by community volunteers.
