How We Help Those in Need around the Omaha Metro – Video Stories
Our array of metro-area social services programs help feed, clothe, comfort, and care for people in need – rebuilding broken lives and broken homes, offering a way out for those who suffer from addiction, and providing help and hope to all.
The following videos provide insight into our most prominent local programs and services as they work to serve suffering humanity.
FOOD
Our largest Omaha-area pantry is located at The Burrows Center for Help and Hope (6101 NW Radial Hwy). This video largely focuses on the pantry at Burrows and how it’s available to anyone in need in Omaha.
We also have a free lunch program at our North Corps Community Center (2401 Manderson St) – which operates weekdays. As this video notes, the kitchen there also makes meals for other metro-area Salvation Army programs.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
We have multiple behavioral-health programs based at our midtown campus at 38thand Cuming Streets. This video provides an overview.
MATERIAL ASSISTANCE
The Burrows Center for Help and Hope also is home to our Omaha-focused material assistance program, which, among other things, provides utility-bill assistance. This video includes information about that.
OLDER ADULT SERVICES
We provide housing for low-income seniors in Omaha via our Durham Booth Manor apartment complex near 38th and Cuming Streets. It’s one of our main programs dedicated to older adults. This video provides an overview of Durham Booth Manor and the care provided to residents there.
EDS
Among the multiple programs supported by our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team is the Winter Night Watch program. The following video shows the program in action, serving those experiencing homelessness in Omaha.
