Western Mental Health Services Information
The Salvation Army of Nebraska, South Dakota & Western Iowa offers mental health support through:
Residential mental health support programs like Mental Health Respite offer individuals with an immediate psychiatric crisis inpatient care for up to 28 days, offering the medical, psychiatric and community support needed for stabilization. We care for the mind, the body and the soul.
Multiple programs serve individuals who are in need of varying degrees of mental health treatment and support over a period of 90 days to one year. During treatment, program participants receive counseling, independent skills training, 24-hour access to staff and other services, with the goal of achieving stabilization, increased independence and community integration.
Stats
1 in 5
Nationally, nearly 1 in 5 adults in the United States suffer from mental illness, yet many live in silence due to the stigmatization and shame surrounding it. Other challenges, like homelessness, addiction and joblessness, frequently are a result of mental illness, making paying bills and keeping up with daily life difficult.
