Western Holiday Services Information
Holiday expenses can put a strain on an already-tight budget, which is why The Salvation Army offers several ways for you to help bridge the gap for individuals and families in need.
A large percentage of the funding that supports The Salvation Army’s human needs programs across Nebraska, South Dakota and western Iowa comes directly from donations to our iconic red kettles during the holiday season. Bell ringing for The Salvation Army is a great way to celebrate Christmas and make a lasting impact on your community at the same time. Sign up to Register to Ring in your community today.
Many of our local Salvation Army community centers in cities and towns across Nebraska, South Dakota and western Iowa organize gift and toy drives to help families in need ensure there will be gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. Contact your local Salvation Army community center to see if it hosts a gift or toy drive in your community.
Many local Salvation Army community centers offer grocery store gift cards or food baskets at Christmas and Thanksgiving so that individuals and families in need are able to enjoy a special holiday meal. Other community centers host a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for neighbors who might not be able to afford a meal or have nowhere to spend the holiday. Contact your local Salvation Army community center to inquire about holiday food assistance programs and how you might donate or volunteer.
