Year-end giving: Donate now and your gift will be matched
Time is running out to give to The Salvation Army this holiday season, and if you live in the Twin Cities, there is still time to capitalize on our Annual Christmas Match. Several generous donors pooled resources to match all new gifts made by Dec. 31, up to $500,000. Gifts may also be eligible for valuable tax benefits.

As the year comes to a close, The Salvation Army is encouraging Twin Cities residents to give generously so that families in our community can receive support during the holidays and throughout the coming year. Your gift will stay local and allow The Salvation Army to continue providing essential services year-round, including food assistance, shelter, rent and utility support, spiritual guidance, and more.
“Year-end giving is our most critical time of year, because 70 percent of our annual donations come during the holidays,” said Lt. Col. E. Randall Polsley, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “And right now, your gift will be matched to help twice as many people.”
Your gifts will help people like Zarina (pictured), a young woman who moved into our Booth Brown House youth shelter and housing facility in St. Paul after she became homeless while in high school. At Booth Brown House, Zarina received all the support she needed to graduate from high school, including stable housing, food, and guidance from Salvation Army caseworkers.
Zarina went on to do incredible things. She earned an undergraduate degree in 2022 and graduated from law school in May, and she recently accepted a job in the Judge Advocate General corps in the U.S. Air Force. (Read Zarina’s inspiring story.)
“[The Salvation Army] gave me the stability and encouragement I needed at a pivotal point in my life, and I carry that gratitude with me every step forward,” she said.
Here’s how to give a year-end gift and have it matched:
