The Salvation Army to Host Back-to-School Health Fair
WHO:
The Salvation Army Freedom Center, the Chicago Department of Public Health, Rush University and RU Caring.
WHAT:
As students prepare to return to school, The Salvation Army and its community partners are helping families get ready with free health services, school supplies, and other resources. The event is designed to remove barriers to school readiness by providing access to health services, school supplies, nutritious food, and family support resources.
The free community event will feature numerous organizations offering immunizations, back-to-school health exams, COVID vaccinations, sports physicals, along with hearing and vision exams. Parents should bring their child’s immunization record.
Additionally, there will be a backpack and supplies giveaway (while supplies last), a barbershop with free haircuts, free lunch, and a produce and dairy products giveaway. Families and students can also enjoy games, snacks, a gaming truck, and special prizes.
