100 Women of Hope

100 women. $1,000 each. One home for hope.

In Winnebago County, 15.62% of our neighbors live in poverty. That is higher than Illinois. Higher than the country. Behind that number are mothers deciding between the electric bill and groceries, kids who have never had a mentor in their corner, and families one hard week away from losing their home.

In Fall 2026, that changes.

The Salvation Army Hope Center in Rockford will bring help together under one roof, so a neighbor in crisis walks through one door and finds everything they need waiting:

Pathway of Hope, which walks alongside families working to break the cycle of poverty. By helping families overcome barriers like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, we lead families down a path toward increased stability.

Social Services and Emergency Assistance. Our Emergency Food pantry, rent and utility support that keeps families in their homes, our Angel Tree Program and more.

A Community Center. A welcoming place for all of us. Recreation, classes, senior programs, and space to gather, worship, and belong, alongside partner organizations.

Why we need 100 women.

Opening the doors is one thing. Opening them at full strength is another. We are inviting 100 women to each pledge $1,000, and together we will raise $100,000 to make sure the Hope Center opens ready to serve, and keeps growing to meet what families need.

Will you be one of the 100?

This is our chance to lead. Right now, there is a powerful opportunity to transform lives in lasting ways – not just today, but for generations to come.

If you are a woman of HOPE:

Take the pledge – less than $3 a day – less than $20 a week – less than $84 a month

YOU can put your HOPE into action – real world action, not just inspiration.

  • A family stabilized
  • A worker retained
  • A barrier removed

These changes happen when generosity meets purpose. Your support empowers transformative solutions that improve lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact.

By turning HOPE into Action, we can build a better future.
Pledge today at 100womenofhope.org.
