The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program in Greater Chicagoland and Northern Illinois

The holidays should be a magical time, especially for children who often dream of the wonderful things they’ll find under their tree. Sadly, many children throughout the greater Chicagoland area won’t even have a Christmas tree, much less presents to open.
 
To ensure that all children, teens, and seniors have a gift to open for Christmas, The Salvation Army identifies families in need through our corps community centers and social service programs. Donors purchase requested gifts for these individuals and the Army provides each family a box full of special foods for the holiday season, ensuring that everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Walmart Angel Tree Gift Registry

To purchase a gift for a child in need at Walmart through your local corps community center's gift registry visit www.walmartangeltree.com.

Become an Angel Tree Donor

You can participate in The Salvation Army's Angel Tree in one of the following ways:

  1. The Virtual Angel Tree is an easy way to shop for Christmas while spreading joy and cheer to your neighbors in need. You can view and select Angel Tree Gift Tags online, shop from home, and even ship Christmas toys directly to The Salvation Army community center nearest to you. Anyone can be be a donor in the Virtual Angel Tree Program! Businesses, groups, or organizations are invited to be part of this program by hosting their own Virtual Angel Tree page.
  2. Printed Angel Tree Tags allow you to exhibit tags wherever you choose - as ornaments on a Christmas tree, on bulletin boards, or simply distributed to fellow employees, customers, or guests.
  3. What if I want to donate a gift without the hassle?
    Simply purchase a new toy, boots, gloves, outerwear—anything you would like to give to a child in need—and drop it off (unwrapped, please) at your nearest Salvation Army location.
