Is this donation tax deductible?

The Salvation Army is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

Is my donation secure?

Absolutely. The security and confidentiality of your information is our highest priority. We use industry-standard SSL (secure socket layer) technology to protect your information and provide a safe and secure environment for online donations. We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, unless you have given us specific permission to do so.

How can I be sure my donation will get to my community?

When you make a donation on this page, we look at the ZIP code of your billing address. That ZIP code determines which Salvation Army location actually receives your funds. This is how we can assure you that when you give, your gift support your local community.

What if I want to give to a different location?

Gifts made here will be routed by your billing ZIP code to your local Salvation Army. You can designate another location here. Under Payment Details, check this box, "This donation is for a specific city, state, or ZIP OUTSIDE my local community." Then, simply enter the city and state OR ZIP Code where you want the money to go. We will send the funds to the Salvation Army that serves that location.
