IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD), sometimes referred to as an IRA charitable rollover, allows you to make a tax-free gift from your individual retirement account (IRA).

If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-smart gift directly from your IRA to The Salvation Army through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). If you are age 73 or older and required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), your QCD can count toward satisfying your RMD while reducing your taxable income.*

A QCD is a simple, effective way to support The Salvation Army's mission of meeting human needs and bringing hope to individuals and families throughout our community.
