The Salvation Army of Greater St. Louis is excited to participate in The National Commander’s Challenge on Saturday, Dec. 13. The annual event encourages Salvation Army units nationwide to help raise a collective $2 million at the kettles in a single day. Salvation Army officers and staff will bellring, and be joined by several Miss Volunteer Missouri titleholders.

In 2024, Greater St. Louis ranked fourth nationally, generating over $21,717.

Thanks to the generosity of Rodger and Paula Riney, The Salvation Army of Greater St. Louis has a $15,000 challenge gift for the big day, with funds being invested directly into the local community.

In addition, donors who give $20 or more on Saturday at the specified time and location, will receive a Salvation Army Bluetooth speaker and access to an exclusive Christmas playlist on Spotify (while supplies last).

Dollars raised as part of The Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign support critical social services, right here in the St. Louis community, all year round. And, 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to services.

In Greater St. Louis, the Red Kettle Campaign aims to raise $5.6 million by Dec. 31.

Individuals are asked to support the Challenge in-person at the Walmart in Kirkwood (1202 S. Kirkwood Rd., Kirkwood, MO 63122) on Saturday from 12-4 p.m. For those who cannot make it in-person, but wish to support the Challenge, they can give to The Salvation Army’s virtual red kettle at salarmy.us/STL25. Please Give with JOY and help ensure that our most marginalized neighbors have their basic needs met.
