WCIL GIVES

June 8-11, 2026

Christmas morning doesn’t just happen in December.

For many children in our community, it depends on what happens right now.

Through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, hundreds of local children receive clothing, toys, and essentials each Christmas. But the need continues to grow, and every year, even with generous support, there are still children whose tags go unadopted.

That’s why this moment matters.

When donations are given during WCIL Gives, we’re able to purchase new coats, shoes, clothing, bedding, and toys during summer clearance sales, when prices are at their lowest. What might buy one item in December can often provide two or three when purchased early.

Your gift doesn’t just help, it stretches further, reaches more children, and fills more of the gaps we see each year.

A new outfit for the first day back to school. So a child can walk in feeling like they belong.
A warm coat waiting on a cold morning. So they're not standing at the bus stop shivering before the day even begins.

A gift under the tree that a child never expected to receive. Something they can finally call their own.

These are more than items. They are moments that bring joy and make a difference.

When you give today, you are helping ensure that more children wake up on Christmas morning knowing they have not been forgotten.
