Ace Hardware Fan Drive

For the third straight summer, Great Lakes Ace Hardware stores in Indianapolis are teaming up with The Salvation Army of Central Indiana to rbing summer relief to those in need through its annual Fan Drive.
This year's Fan Drive campaign runs from May 18 - June 6 and raises funds to provide new box fans to Central Indiana residents. The Salvation Army will distribute fans to the community to help households stay cool and safe during the hot summer.
How you can help
Customers can support the Fan Drive when they visit participating Ace stores by rounding up their purchases when checking out. Online donations can also be made at salarmy.us/FanDrive
Impact on the Community
Last year, local Ace customers donated $3,400, enough to provide 176 box fans to The Salvation Army to distribute. Since the Fan Drive started in Central Indiana in 2024, customers have made it possible to donate more than 400 box fans to the commuity
"Every summer, we hear from families and individuals who are in need of a fan to help keep their homes cool," said Major Dan Sawka, General Secretary of The Salvation Army Indiana Division. "For many people, especially seniors, children, and those without reliable air conditioning, even a simple box fan can make a huge difference during extreme heat. These fans provide comfort, safety, and peace of mind during the hottest months of the year."
Shoppers are encouraged to round up their purchases at all five Great Lakes Ace Hardware stores in Central Indiana. Every dollar raised stays right here in Central Indiana, helping local families and individuals stay safe and cool during the summer heat.
Once the box fans are collected, they will be distributed free of charge while supplies last. A notification will go out to the community when the fans are ready for distribution in early July.
