The holiday season served as a powerful reminder that every act of generosity helps neighbors facing hunger, homelessness and hardship.

CAMPAIGN MILESTONE
$7.1 MILLION+
The campaign exceeded its $7.1 million fundraising goal, helping provide support to neighbors throughout Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

LEADING THE WAY
Inspiring Metro Detroit to Give with Joy.
As Red Kettle Christmas Chair, Big Jim O’Brien rallied the community and his listeners to Give with Joy throughout the season.
The longtime radio DJ was a fixture throughout the campaign, posting on his personal social media, emceeing the Royal Park Hotel partnership event and encouraging thousands of Metro Detroiters gathered in downtown Detroit to Give with Joy.
The World’s Tallest Red Kettle illuminated the skyline with 26,000 LED lights, officially kicking off the annual fundraising campaign.

Big Jim also inspired generosity and encouraged volunteerism throughout Celebrity Bell Ringer Weekend.

A LITTLE FRIENDLY COMPETITION

Big Jim even convinced his friend Bob Seger to contribute to his online Red Kettle, helping secure another first-place finish in the friendly fundraising competition among local media personalities.
