The Lighting of the Sharing Tree 2025

About the event

The Apache Mall in Rochester, MN is a key collection site for Christmas gifts in our county each year. Community members are able to place gifts beneath the mall's Christmas tree as soon as it is lit in late November, and our team at The Salvation Army picks up those gifts in order to distribute them to families in need. 

This year, we gather around the Sharing Tree across from Caribou Coffee and the old entrance to Herberger's in order to officially light the tree, and to celebrate the start of the season of giving in Olmsted County. 

Listen for the sounds of The Salvaiton Army band echoing through the mall, and join us in the official count down live with KAAL during their 6pm news hour. Anyone wishing to place gifts under the Christmas tree for a child in our community will be welcome to do so as soon as the tree lights shine.
