Stuff the Bus - Donate School Supplies
Help Kids Start the School Year Ready to Learn
Every child deserves to walk into the first day of school with the supplies they need to succeed — but for many families, the cost of backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and more can be overwhelming. The Salvation Army's Stuff the Bus campaign makes it possible for communities across the country to come together and ensure no child faces that first day unprepared.
Each summer, The Salvation Army partners with Walmart to collect school supplies for children in need. Donated supplies go directly to local Salvation Army programs, which distribute them to families who need them most — free of charge, and with dignity.

Shop In-Store
Your next trip to Walmart is all it takes to make a difference. While you're shopping, pick up a few extra school supplies — notebooks, crayons, folders, or whatever's on the list — and drop them in the Salvation Army Stuff the Bus collection bin before you head out. It's an easy way to turn an errand you're already running into something that changes a child's first day of school. Participating Walmart stores will appear on the map along with campaign dates and drop-off hours for each location, so you can plan your donation run at a time that works for you.
Online Walmart Registry
Prefer to shop from home? You can browse and purchase from an online Stuff the Bus Walmart registry anytime — no campaign window required. Search your ZIP code to find a registry linked to your local Salvation Army, and the supplies you order will go directly where they're needed.
