TV Host Brett Waterman To Headline Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Brett Waterman, architectural preservationist and host of the Magnolia Network’s “Restored,” will deliver the keynote address at The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Kickoff on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at the Bear Springs Event Center in Highland.

“The event marks the official start of the holiday fundraising season for the organization, which provides vital social services to communities throughout the region,” said Major Adam Morales, the San Bernardino Citadel Commander. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with the program beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Waterman, a Redlands resident, is widely known for his work preserving and renovating historic homes throughout Southern California. For more than 30 years, he has applied his hands-on expertise to a wide range of architectural styles, from Victorian mansions to Mid-Century Modern cottages. His show, “Restored,” airs on Magnolia Network, HGTV, and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Waterman’s approach emphasizes honoring a structure's original design while adapting it for modern life, ensuring that architectural history is preserved for future generations. A UCLA graduate, he is a certified expert in architecture and restoration, passionate about sharing his knowledge with the public.

 

Donations from the Red Kettles help provide Christmas holiday food baskets for about 500 local families. On Christmas, a Christmas Dinner is traditionally held, offering a delicious meal to around 200 people.

The Salvation Army of San Bernardino serves the cities of San Bernardino, Redlands, Highland, Rialto, Loma Linda, Colton, Yucaipa, Calimesa, Bloomington, Mentone, Grand Terrace, Muscoy, Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, and Running Springs.

 

The Salvation Army welcomes donations of food, clothing, toys, and money. These can be dropped off at The Salvation Army Hospitality House, located at 925 W. 10th Street, San Bernardino, or at The Salvation Army Citadel office, 838 Alta Street, in Redlands.
