The Salvation Army of Goshen, serving Southern Elkhart County, is urgently asking for monetary donations from the community as the iconic Red Kettle Campaign enters its final seven days. At this critical point, the organization is currently $20,000 behind where it was at the same time last year and $50,000 from reaching their overall goal of $105,000.

With only one week remaining in bell ringing, the need is immediate. Monetary donations have declined, placing essential, year-round services at risk.

“We are grateful for each and every donor in our community, and for every person who has supported our Angel Tree program this year,” said Lt. Aurelia Welch, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army of Goshen. “But monetary donations are down. If we do not reach our goal, services could be impacted—services like our food pantry, utility and rent assistance, and our senior and youth programs.”

In addition to financial gifts, The Salvation Army is also in need of volunteers. There are more than 200 bell-ringing shifts available over the next seven days, and every shift filled helps bring the organization closer to its goal.

Major Bill Welch emphasized the long-term importance of the Red Kettle Campaign: “Our kettle goal is vital to our community. It funds the services people rely on throughout the year—not just at Christmas. When we don’t reach our goal, the impact is felt year-round. We truly need our community’s help.”

The Salvation Army of Goshen encourages community members, businesses, and groups to donate generously and consider signing up to ring a bell during this final push.

How to Help:

  • Donate at a Red Kettle location or online
  • Volunteer to ring a bell and help fill the remaining shifts
  • Encourage friends, family, and coworkers to give during this final week

Every dollar and every hour makes a difference.
