The Salvation Army of Central Indiana to Distribute Christmas Toys to Thousands of Local Children Through Angel Tree & Toy Shop Program
The Salvation Army of Central Indiana is gearing up to deliver thousands Christmas gifts to local children. December 16-19 families enrolled in the Angel Tree & Toy Shop programs will receive the gifts specially selected for their children by generous sponsors and community donors.
On December 16, 17, and 18, parents will pick up their child’s personalized Angel Tree gift bag during a drive-thru distribution at The Salvation Army of Eagle Creek, located at 4400 High School Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46254.
Each Angel Tree bag contains toys and clothing thoughtfully purchased by individual donors or companies who “sponsored” Angels this season, fulfilling wish lists and needs for more than 5,000 children across Central Indiana.
Adding to the excitement, Indianapolis Colts running back Ameer Abdullah will join volunteers on December 16 starting at 3pm to help distribute gifts to parents. Abdulah's presence highlights the Colts' and his commitment to making Christmas brighter for families in need.
On December 19, The Salvation Army will open its Toy Shop, where a select group of parents that are in the Angel Tree & Toy Shop program will have the opportunity to come inside and choose gifts for their children. The Toy Shop is powered entirely by toy drives and generous donations from businesses, churches, and community groups throughout the holiday season.
“Every Christmas gift represents hope, dignity, and relief for families facing tough times,” said Major Malinda O’Neil, Area Commander of The Salvation Army. “Whether it comes from a sponsor, a toy drive, or the hands of a volunteer, each donation helps us ensure that every child feels the joy of Christmas morning.”
The Angel Tree & Toy Shop programs are part of The Salvation Army’s mission to meet human needs in His name without discrimination, offering support to families long after the holidays end through programs that provide food, financial assistance, case management, and pathways out of poverty.
